San Jose, Calif. – May 6, 2013 – Wrightspeed, Inc., a start-up building extended-range hybrid-electric drive trains for commercial truck fleets, is pleased to welcome Jonathan Randall to their executive team in the role of Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Jonathan is an accomplished commercial truck sales and marketing executive who spent thirteen years with Daimler AG’s North American commercial truck unit (DTNA) with executive posts as Director of Marketing for Freightliner Trucks and as Director of Sales and Marketing for the company’s chassis division, Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC), with revenues of over $1B/year.
Prior to joining Wrightspeed, Jonathan held executive management positions with Idealease, Inc., Daimler Trucks North America and Blue Bird Corporation and has management experience in the consumer goods market. Jonathan joined Daimler Trucks NA (DTNA), Daimler AG’s commercial truck division, in November, 1999. There, he established Freightliner Trucks leasing and contract maintenance division. Between 1999 and 2004 he also lead the company’s efforts in Service Marketing, Electronic Marketing, Extended Warranty Coverage, ServicePoint ® program, and International Service. In 2004 Jonathan was tapped to lead Freightliner Trucks marketing efforts as Director of Product Marketing and in 2007 Jonathan was assigned to Freightliner Custom Chassis as Director of Sales and Marketing, responsible for business and product development for the commercial walk in van, recreational vehicle and commercial bus products.
Jonathan is active with the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) and sat on the Board of Directors for the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA). He is also a past board member for the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) and holds the Certified Transportation Professional designation through NPTC.
