San Jose, Calif. – May 7th, 2013 – Wrightspeed, Inc., a start-up building extended-range hybrid-electric drive trains for commercial truck fleets, today announced that Pete Patel has joined their executive management team as Vice President of Manufacturing Operations. Pete is a highly successful Silicon Valley manufacturing and supply chain executive with extensive manufacturing management experience in both start-ups and public companies.
Pete Patel is a seasoned, hands-on operations executive with over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and networking industry. Pete has successfully designed and implemented operations strategies for worldwide supply chain management, global distribution, quality improvement, ISO 9001 compliance and lean manufacturing. He has significant experience with new product introductions and has regularly applied business acumen to improve the overall customer experience. . Pete has also worked extensively with contract manufacturing organizations both in the U.S. as well as in Asia. In addition to manufacturing and operations, Pete has experience managing the following functions: engineering, quality, customer service, sales administration, IT and facilities.
Most recently, Pete served as Vice President of Global Operations at Network Equipment Technologies, a publicly traded company that produces voice and data communications equipment for multi-service networks. Previously, he was Vice President of Operations at Xirrus, a pre-IPO company that develops patented wireless systems. Pete has also helped executive teams successfully execute public offerings and scale up manufacturing capabilities as Vice President of Operations at Accelerated Networks (later acquired by Occam Networks) and Advanced Fibre Communications. He has held various senior management positions in operations at DSC Communications and Ericsson as well. Pete holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Gujarat University, India.
